Huddersfield Giants came from behind to defeat the Warrington Wolves 30-19 in their Super League clash this afternoon.
The Wolves raced into an early lead when Daryl Clark found space down the right and crashed over the line in the fifth minute, while Gareth O'Brien added the extras.
Jake Connor brought the home side back into the match as Richie Myler dropped the ball and allowed Connor to gather and race in for the score.
O'Brien restored Warrington's lead in fortunate fashion as his kick slammed into Jodie Broughton and rebounded into his path, which gave him space to cross the line.
Just before the break, O'Brien added another point to his side's total when he launched a drop goal through the posts to hand his side a 13-6 lead at half time.
In the second half, Broughton crossed the line for the home side after an extended period of pressure, and the conversion from Jamie Ellis moved Huddersfield to within a point.
Ben Harrison moved his side further into the lead as he crossed the line from close range, but Jermaine McGillvary kept the Giants in striking distance with a score to which Danny Brough added the extras.
Huddersfield completed their comeback when Jared Simpson found space to weave through a gap and race over the line to hand his side the lead, while Ellis added two drop goals to extend their advantage to seven points.
McGillvary ensured the Giants' victory when he crossed the line for his second score of the game in the dying minutes.
The match was to end on a sour note for both team as Huddersfield's Ellis and Warrington's Clark were sent to the sin bin, but the punishments had no effect on the result.
