Former Australia international Michael Lynagh fears for his country against the British and Irish Lions this summer.

Former Australia international Michael Lynagh believes that the team could struggle to compete against the British and Irish Lions this summer.

A growing injury list for the home nation has fuelled suggestions that the Lions could dominate this summer, which is a view shared by the former fly-half.

"The Lions could win the series 3-0, yes. Australian teams in the Super 15 tournament have had quite a few injuries to key players, people like Higginbotham and Ioane and a number of other players who would have appeared in the Test series," he told Sky Sports News.

"That has hurt Australia and their problem is that they don't have a huge amount of depth. They have 20-odd players who are strong but as soon as you scratch the surface, they become a bit thin."

Lynagh was part of an Australia side that lost 2-1 to the Lions in 1989.
