New Zealand have kicked off the 2013 Rugby Championship in style as they thrashed Australia 47-29 at the ANZ Stadium.
The All Blacks got off to the perfect start, with Ben Smith scoring his first of three tries after just two minutes, which was converted by Aaron Cruden.
Two penalties from Christian Lealiifano brought Australia to within a point and he added two more after an effort from Cruden, which put Australia in front for the first time.
New Zealand rallied before half time as Cruden converted his own try before Richie McCaw added a third for his side.
Australia were back within three points following Will Genia's try, converted by Lealiifano, but the lead at the break was 25-19 to the All Blacks after a Cruden penalty.
In the second half it was entirely one-way traffic. Tries from Conrad Smith and two more from Ben Smith put New Zealand well on top and only a single effort from James O'Connor gave Australia some late encouragement.
The All Blacks took a comprehensive win by 47 points to 29.
