Ceri Sweeney kicks Exeter Chiefs to victory

Ceri Sweeney kicks 14 points for the Exeter Chiefs as they beat Harlequins 19-5 in the LV= Cup.

Exeter Chiefs have won their opening match of the LV= Cup by beating Harlequins 19-5.

The visitors got off to a strong start, as Paul Sackey found a gap after just five minutes to add an early try.

Ceri Sweeney kicked two penalties shortly after to put the home side ahead, but neither team could add to the score again before half time.

The Chiefs continued to fall short as they looked for a try after the break, but Sweeney was able to find the posts again to extend their advantage.

Sireli Naqelevuki forced his way over the score the hosts' only try of the game 20 minutes before full time, leaving Exeter 17 points clear of their opponents, who were unable to build on their fifth-minute score.
