Scarlets have beaten London Irish 27-19 in their tense LV Cup tie at the Parc y Scarlets.
The visitors took the lead in the ninth minute when Tom Homer kicked over a penalty.
The Scarlets were soon level after Daniel Newton launched a kick of his own between the posts.
The hosts were ahead at the breaks thanks to Viliami Iongi's try, converted by Newton.
Two Homer penalties drew Irish to within a point of their opponents, but Deacon Manu's try, converted by Newton, stretched the Scarlets' lead to 17-9.
However, Homer's penalty on the hour kept Irish's half of the scoreboard ticking over, before Topsy Ojo's try, converted by Homer, gave Irish an unlikely 19-17 lead.
Newton's second penalty of the match edged the Scarlets 20-19 ahead before Iongi's second try of the contest, converted by Newton, sealed the win for the home side.
