London Irish 52-18 Gloucester

London Irish beat Gloucester 52-18 at the Madejski Stadium.

London Irish have ended their Aviva Premiership campaign with back-to-back victories, beating Gloucester 52-18 at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon.

Gloucester fly-half Freddie Burns and Tom Homer traded one penalty apiece in the opening stages, before the Irish full-back fired three more through the posts to take a nine-point lead.

The visitors were able to cross over to reduce the deficit, but Homer struck back with another three points before converting Darren Allinson's five to re-establish a large cushion.

Burns put another dent in the deficit by kicking his second penalty of the game, but tries by Sailosi Tagicakibau and Jonathan Joseph handed the home team a dominating first-half lead.

Homer kicked yet another penalty after the restart to increase their deficit to 26 points.

Two tries from Marland Yarde and another from Delon Armitage extended their lead with an hour gone, before Freddie Burns converted a late score for a consolation.
