Chris Ashton faces an RFU disciplinary hearing after sparking a mass brawl at Welford Road on Saturday.

Chris Ashton has been summoned to appear before an RFU disciplinary hearing for his role in sparking a mass brawl during Leicester Tigers' 30-25 victory over Northampton Saints on Saturday.

Northampton's Tom Wood and Leicester's Alesana Tuilagi will also appear for their parts in the incident at Welford Road.

The brawl erupted after Ashton appeared to pull Samoan international Tuilagi's hair, resulting in red cards for Tuilagi and Wood.

Ashton has been cited for an "act contrary to good sportsmanship", Tuilagi and Wood for their red cards and Northampton's Phil Dowson will also appear for a dangerous tackle on Saracens back Alex Goode in a Premiership game at Franklin's Gardens on November 26.

The hearing will be chaired by Twickenham disciplinary chief Judge Jeff Blackett.
