Sale Sharks survived a late comeback from London Wasps to take a narrow win in the LV= Cup this afternoon.
A closely-fought first half saw Wasps take a 16-14 advantage at half time, the lead having changed hands several times in the opening 40 minutes.
Sale made a sensational start to the second half, scoring three tries inside the opening five minutes.
The visitors seemed to be in control of the match heading towards the final whistle, but a late try from Charlie Davies gave Wasps hope, with Aston Croall finishing the game in the sin bin.
A try in the dying seconds from Sam Jones cut Sharks' lead to three points, but there was not enough time left to level the scores.
The loss is Wasps' third of the tournament, while Sale remain top of Pool Two with three wins in four games.
