Owen Farrell impressed by Saracens resilience

Owen Farrell praises his Saracens teammates for their spirited display during Saturday's dramatic 34-28 win over London Wasps.

Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell has praised the team for their dogged performance during Saturday's dramatic victory over London Wasps.

Last season's Aviva Premiership runners-up began the new campaign with a 34-28 win at Twickenham Stadium thanks to David Strettle's try at the death.

Despite admitting that Sarries still have plenty of work to do, Farrell was impressed by the team's determination to snatch the points from Wasps.

"I think it shows a lot about the team that we stuck at to the end and pulled off a result like we did," the England international told the club's official website.

"I think we've got a few things that we need to work on, but it's the first game of the season so we know that there will be aspects of our game that will need improving."

Saracens play their first away match of the season this Friday when they make the trip to Harlequins.
