Italian shooter Diana Bacosi pleased with skeet gold

Italian shooter Diana Bacosi admits that it was "real fun" to win gold in the mixed skeet event at the European Games in Baku.

Gold-medal winning shooter Diana Bacosi has said that it was "real fun" to compete in the mixed team skeet event at the European Games in Baku.

The 31-year-old, who also won silver in the women's skeet, secured the gold alongside Valerio Luchini earlier today.

Bacosi told reporters: "This team event has been a very nice experiment. It's been real fun. It's also been very exciting because I've never participated in this kind of competition and it's good to feel part of a team.

"Today the wind was terrible. It was really incredible because the targets had their own way to fly, but we fought really well and we eventually made it.

"It's been a very good experience for me. But not only for me, the whole Italian shooting team collected a lot of medals in our sport as usual. We're always the strongest ones. Behind all our successes there is hard work and tough training, not only individual but also as a real team."

Italy currently sit 10th in the medal table, with nine of their 17 medals coming from shooting.
