Team GB shooter Ed Ling has predicted a "high-scoring" affair in the men's trap event at Baku 2015.
The 32-year-old will take part in qualifying on Tuesday morning, although any points earned at that stage will not be carried forward.
A semi-final stage has also been implemented between qualifying and the final, but world number nine Ling is confident that he can remain in contention throughout.
"It's all about making the final now," he told reporters. "If you go into the final in sixth place, you've got everything to gain and nothing to lose, but if you qualify in first, you still have to shoot well again.
"There are potential wind problems, but the background and visibility are good. I think it's going to be a very high-scoring event."
Ling is joined at the European Games by wife Abbey Ling, who is competing in the women's trap event.
