World Snooker has confirmed that it is investigating comments made by Mark Allen after he refused to apologise for labeling Marco Fu a cheat.
Allen was handed a three-month suspended sentence for comments he made after losing to Fu at this year's World Championship.
The 26-year old's ban expired this weekend but he has insisted that he stands by his initial comments.
He told BBC Sport: "I don't regret the comments I made but the way I have made them.
"I'd never said anything about Marco as a person. Marco as a person is one of the nicest people you'd ever meet.
"Obviously people make mistakes on the table. But aside from that, Marco is a great snooker player."
World Snooker have confirmed that they will ask Allen for an explanation ahead of his first-round clash with Fu at the UK Championships later today.
