Dominic Dale Dale "surprised" with consistency

Dominic Dale admits that he was "surprised" by the consistency he showed during his Snooker Shoot-Out triumph.

Dominic Dale has admitted that even he is surprised by his Snooker Shoot-Out triumph, after beating Stuart Bingham in the final.

The Welshman racked up a break of 61 on his way to victory, with Bingham unable to string together a high enough break to get back into the one-off frame.

Following tonight's triumph, Dale told Sky Sports: "I just can't believe it, it's ridiculous - I'm 42-years-old and I should be in my grave now. All through the tournament I've just been playing frame-by-frame, hoping and praying you just play well enough to get through.

"I've been surprised with it myself how consistent I've been and I've pulled out some great pressure balls where if I miss one of them I'm probably out so just luckily I've twitched and they've all gone in."

Dale overcame fellow countryman Ryan Day in the semi-final, while Bingham defeated Graeme Dott in emphatic style, winning 62-0.
