Shaun Murphy and Stuart Bingham progressed to the quarter-finals of the UK Championship on Tuesday evening with victories over Graeme Dott and Stephen Maguire respectively.
Murphy, who was the UK title winner in 2008, will play either Mark King or 17-year-old Luca Brecel in the last eight after coming through 6-2.
Premier League champion Bingham's reward for his 6-4 win over Maguire will be a match against Ali Carter in round three.
Earlier in the day, Carter overcame Mark Joyce 6-2, while Matthew Stevens saw off Marco Fu 6-4.
Stevens will meet John Higgins or Mark Davis in the next round.
