Ronnie O'Sullivan wins record-equalling sixth Masters title

The five-time world champion made short work of his opponent to ensure a triumphant return to a major tournament having not played in a televised event since last year's World Championship.

O'Sullivan outclassed his helpless opponent to claim the title for a sixth time, bringing him level with Stephen Hendry as the two most successful players in Masters history.

Hawkins, ranked eighth in the world, got off to a good start by winning the first frame, but O'Sullivan reeled off the next 10 in quick succession to seal the win.

The world number six matched the biggest ever margin of victory in a Masters final, equalling a 9-0 triumph for Steve Davis over Mike Hallett in 1988.
