Great Britain duo Layla Black, Georgia Coates qualify for breaststroke final

Layla Black and Georgia Coates ensure that Great Britain will be represented in the 200m breaststroke final by qualifying from the semi-final.

Great Britain duo Layla Black and Georgia Coates have safely secured their passage into tomorrow's 200m breaststroke final at the European Games in Baku.

Black qualified in second with a time of 2:27.09, while Coates finished three places back in fifth by clocking 2:30.41.

However, the duo could have their work cut out for them after Russia's Maria Astashkina flashed her gold medal credentials in style.

Astashkinda swam a Games record 2:23.88 to win the semi-final and ensure that she is the one to beat in the final, which is scheduled to begin at around 2.18pm tomorrow.
