Great Britain ended the penultimate day of the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Otopeni with another three gold medals to their name.

The Brits' gold rush began with Matthew Richards's triumph in the men's 200m freestyle final, as the 20-year-old beat compatriot James Guy to the title with 1:41.01 on the timer.

Guy finished just 0.11 seconds behind Richards in 1:41.12 to collect the silver medal, only three-hundredths of a second ahead of Lithuanian bronze medallist Danas Rapsys (1:41.15).

Less than an hour later, Abbie Wood followed up her women's 400m individual medley gold with the European crown in the 200m individual medley, winning in 2:05.58.

Wood finished exactly one second clear of France's Charlotte Bonnet (2:06.58), while Austria's Lena Kreundl (2:06.89) beat Katie Shanahan (2:07.23) to third place.

Later in the day, GB's 4x50m mixed freestyle relay team comprising Freya Anderson, Ben Proud, Lewis Burras and Anna Hopkin finished atop the podium in a course-record time of 1:27.75, as Italy and France placed second and third respectively.

Elsewhere, Medi Harris finished the women's 100m backstroke final in second place with a time of 56.81, as fellow Briton Kathleen Dawson placed fourth, touching the wall in 57.30 seconds.

Jacob Peters took to the water for the men's 50m butterfly final, but he also accepted a fourth-placed ranking in 22.10 seconds, as Switzerland's Noe Ponti won his third gold of the championships.

GB had no representatives in the women's 100m butterfly or men's 200m breaststroke finals, which were won by Sweden's Louise Hansson and the Netherlands' Caspar Corbeau respectively.
