Great Britain's participation in the men's table tennis singles is over after Paul Drinkhall was knocked out in the third round by Dimitrij Ovtcharov.
Ovtcharov, who is considered one of the strongest players in Europe and a medal contender for the event, triumphed 11-8 11-5 11-9 11-4 at the Excel Arena.
While it was Drinkhall's third match of the competition, the seeded German was playing for the first time and looked slightly rusty early on as the Briton started brightly.
Drinkhall pushed him hard in the opening game but was narrowly edged out, before a controversial net call disrupted his concentration and allowed Ovtcharov a comfortable second-game victory.
From then on, Ovcharov was able to find his feet and went untroubled throughout the rest of the match, which he sealed in four sets inside 45 minutes.
