Jack Draper remains in contention for a semi-final spot at the Next Gen ATP Finals after beating Taiwan's Tseng Chun-hsin in four sets.

Great Britain's Jack Draper is still in with a chance of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Next Gen ATP Finals after beating Taiwan's Tseng Chun-hsin in Wednesday's group battle.

The 20-year-old came from a set down to pick up his first win of the 2022 tournament, prevailing 1-4 4-2 4-3[2] 4-2 in one hour and 32 minutes.

Despite kicking off proceedings with a love hold in his opening service game, Draper was on the back foot soon after and ceded the early break to Chun-hsin, going 3-1 down in the first set.

The Taiwan starlet squandered one set point with a double fault but made no mistake on his second, and the pair would both hold to love in their first service games of the second set.

While 3-2 down in the second set, Chun-hsin hit two consecutive winners to establish a 40-15 lead on serve, but he could not capitalize on that advantage as Draper came storming back.

The Brit won three points on the bounce - the third coming from a double fault - to earn his first break and level the match at 1-1, and neither man gave much away on serve in the third set.

Draper had agonisingly gone down in straight sets to Switzerland's Dominic Stricker in his inaugural match after losing three tie-breaks on the bounce, but there was no such disappointment for the 20-year-old this time around.

Draper won four of the first five points and hit two aces in a dominant tie-break to move 2-1 up in the match, and the world number 41 started to give his opponent a bit more trouble on serve afterwards.

Another Chun-hsin double fault would give Draper a break point in the penultimate game of the match, which he gratefully converted before the 21-year-old Taiwanese player was presented with an immediate chance to break back and force another tie-break.

However, Draper saved that break point before holding for the victory, having posted an 83% win rate on his first serves and six aces compared to just one for Chun-hsin on the day.

The British third seed currently occupies third place in the Red Group rankings before facing Italy's Lorenzo Musetti on Thursday.

Over in the Green Group, Brandon Nakashima made it two for two with a 4-1 4-3[2] 4-2 win over Jiri Lehecka, while Francesco Passaro beat Italian counterpart Matteo Arnaldi 4-3[7] 2-4 3-4[4] 4-3[4] 4-3[8] in a five-set thriller.
