Roger Federer cruised to a straight-sets win over Janko Tipsarevic in his opening match in the ATP World Tour Finals this afternoon.
The world number two broke Tipsarevic in his opening service game while keeping his own service games tidy. The one break was enough to give the Swiss player the opening set 6-3.
The Serb took the opening game of the second set, but the Wimbledon champion outclassed him, winning the next six games to wrap up the match in a little over an hour.
The second match in this group, David Ferrer against Juan Martin del Potro, takes place this evening.
