Kyle Edmund has acknowledged that he will experience a test with the weather when he faces Nikoloz Basilashvili in the Australian Open third round.
On Wednesday, Edmund recorded an impressive straight-sets win over Denis Istomin to reach the last 32 in Melbourne for the first time, but temperatures are expected to soar ahead of his next match.
The British number two is pleased with the level of his recent performances, but admits that he must take precautions during Friday's encounter.
The 23-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I knew going into this match, physically I was good, the way I'm hitting the ball. If he was going to beat me today, I knew I was going to put up a good fight. Today was a good, professional performance. I did what I needed to do."
On the weather, he added: "I got a bit burned on Monday. I didn't put enough on then. It's my neck that gets it worst. You're in the sun quite a bit. I know I have to because of my pale skin. I have to take responsibility.
Edmund is attempting to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for just the second time, having previously progressed through to the last 16 at the US Open in 2016.
