Andy Murray misses out on night session

British number one Andy Murray will play his Australian Open third-round match with Joao Sousa during the day session on the Hisense Arena.

Andy Murray has missed out on an opportunity to play in the night session at the Australian Open for a third successive match.

After twice competing during the afternoon in Melbourne, the two-time Grand Slam winner may have expected to be granted his turn to feature under the lights on Rod Laver or Margaret Court Arena.

However, the British number one will play his last-32 contest against Joao Sousa at around 3pm, local time, on the Hisense Arena.

Temperatures have soared on day four in Melbourne, with a number of players commenting on the importance of winning in straight sets, but it is expected that conditions will ease during the next few days.
