British number one Andy Murray has advanced into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters with a straight-sets 6-2 7-5 victory over Alex Bogomolov Jr.
The world number four took just under 40 minutes to claim the first set on court three as Bogomolov Jr. struggled to cope with the pace of the surface.
However, the American fought back in the second set and looked to be forcing a tie-break until Murray broke him in the 11th game.
The Scot held his nerve in the remaining game to serve out the match.
Murray will now face either Gilles Simon or David Ferrer in the final eight.
