France win the doubles rubber of their Davis Cup semi-final with Spain to reduce overall score to 2-1.

France reduced the deficit in their Davis Cup semi-final with Spain by winning the doubles rubber.

The French were 2-0 down after the opening day but picked up a valuable win in the doubles.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra teamed up to beat Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco 6-1 6-2 6-0.

On Friday, Spain had opened up a 2-0 lead as Rafael Nadal beat Richard Gasquet 6-3 6-0 6-1 and then David Ferrer defeated Gilles Simon 6-1 6-4 6-1.

Four-time champions Spain need to win just one of the two remaining singles matches on Sunday to secure their place in the final.

Spain and France met in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup last year, with the French team winning 5-0.
