American John Isner has admitted that he has to "play aggressive" tennis if he is to stand any chance of defeating Tommy Haas at the French Open.
The two will meet in round three at Roland Garros this afternoon following Isner's five-set win over compatriot Ryan Harrison yesterday.
However, despite the fact that he has a 3-2 victory record over veteran Haas, Isner has conceded that it is likely to be a close encounter between the pair in the French capital.
"I have to play well, simple as that. I need to play aggressive. He does a lot of things better than me, so I think there are some things I may do better than him. But I need to be aggressive tomorrow and see what happens," he told reporters.
Isner has never previously gone beyond the third round of the competition.
