Tomas Berdych has claimed a spot in the third round of the French Open after comfortably defeating Michael Llodra 6-2 6-3 6-3.
The number seven seed cruised through the opening set with little challenge from his French opponent, who could only claim two games on the board after Berdych snatched the first break of serve in Paris.
Following the Czech pro's impressive display on the clay court in the opening stages, it was up to Llodra to make his mark and enforce his own game to stay in contention for a spot in round three.
Despite the Frenchman's attempts, Berdych was far stronger with his sweeping forehand shots and precise returns and an early break proved vital for the 26-year-old, who took a two-set lead with ease.
The 2010 Wimbledon finalist continued his dominance on Court 1 and managed to wrap up the contest 6-3 while Llodra was left to lick his wounds.
