Caroline Wozniacki has continued her defence of the Indian Wells Open by overcoming Sofia Arvidsson 3-6 7-5 6-2 in California.
The world number four struggled to make an impact in the opening set and was on course for a surprise defeat after her Swedish opponent took the lead.
Despite an early blow, Wozniacki managed to take control in the second set and slightly edge the contest by holding serve and equalising the score in the third round.
The deciding set proved too much for Arvidsson, which allowed the 21-year-old Dane to dominate and clinch the match to reach the quarter-finals.
Wozniacki will go head to head with Ana Ivanovic for a spot in the semi-finals in California.
