Novak Djokovic pleased with "good intensity" of Monte Carlo opener

Novak Djokovic says that he is pleased to have experienced a "good intensity" in his first-round win over Albert Ramos in the Monte Carlo Masters.

World number one Novak Djokovic has insisted that he was satisfied with the "intensity" of his first match on clay against Albert Ramos at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Serbian sealed a comfortable 6-1 6-4 victory in the first round of the tournament today.

"I'm really pleased with my performance for my first match on clay against an experienced player on this surface," Djokovic told AP. "There was a good intensity."

The result was Djokovic's 13th win on the bounce following title wins at Indian Wells and the Miami Masters.
