Emma Raducanu reportedly withdraws from the Miami Open with a back injury and is now a doubt for Great Britain's Billie Jean King Cup qualifier against France.

Great Britain's Emma Raducanu has reportedly withdrawn from the Miami Open with a lower back injury.

The former US Open winner - who received a wild card for the tournament - was scheduled to face China's Wang Xiyu in the first round after reaching the last 32 of the Indian Wells Masters, where she was defeated by Aryna Sabalenka.

Raducanu eased past Rebeka Masarova and earned a walkover win over Dayana Yastremska in California before heading to Florida, and she appeared in good physical condition at the previous Masters tournament.

However, according to Sky Sports News, the 21-year-old has now pulled out of the Miami Open with a lower back problem, although official confirmation is yet to arrive from Raducanu or the tournament organisers.

Raducanu's injury is not believed to be severe, but she has also emerged as a doubt for next month's Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers with France, having been selected alongside Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart and Heather Watson for Anne Keothavong's squad.

The world number 288 made her comeback at the ASB Classic in January after an eight-month absence due to wrist and ankle surgeries, and she reached the second round of the Australian Open, where she lost to Yafan Wang.

Due to Raducanu's withdrawal, world number 56 Xiyu will now meet Slovakian qualifier Anna Karolina Schmiedlova for the chance to meet Russian 22nd seen Anna Kalinskaya in round two.
