Andy Murray will kick off his BMW Open campaign by taking on world number 653 Mischa Zverev in Munich on Thursday afternoon.
The 27-year-old German qualifier beat Jan-Lennard Struff in the first round to set up a meeting with tournament top-seed Murray.
As well as competing in the singles competition, the British number one is also taking part in the doubles event this afternoon alongside Dutchman Jean-Julien Rojer.
Elsewhere, two-time winner Philipp Kohlschreiber booked his place in the second round by overcoming Jiri Vesely, although Czech compatriot Dustin Brown crashed out at the same stage.
