Andy Murray could miss next week's Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel.
The world number three has played in Tokyo and Shanghai over the past two weeks following September's triumph at the US Open.
The Scot is now expected to pull out of the Swiss competition to give himself some rest before the end of the season.
The Swiss Indoors starts on Tuesday.
