2016 Paris Masters champion Andy Murray receives a wildcard entry into this year's tournament, which starts on November 1.

Andy Murray will return to the Paris Masters for the first time since his triumphant 2016 campaign after being handed a main draw wildcard entry.

The three-time Grand Slam winner overcame John Isner in the final five years ago to cement his place at the top of the ATP rankings during a remarkable end to the 2016 season.

Murray would proceed to overcome Novak Djokovic in the ATP Finals at the end of that year following triumphs at the Italian Open and Shanghai Masters, but he has missed the last four editions of the Paris Masters amid his various injury problems.

However, the Brit will be returning to the French capital next month after it was confirmed that he will be one of four main draw wildcards alongside Richard Gasquet, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Arthur Rinderknech.

Murray had previously posted five quarter-final finishes at the ATP Masters 1000 event before his 2016 win, and the title is currently held by Russia's Daniil Medvedev.

Murray's most recent match on Wednesday saw him bow out of the Vienna Open to Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, and he has refused to rule out playing for Great Britain at the Davis Cup Finals.
