Janko Tipsarevic will contest for a spot in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters after defeating Juan Monaco 6-3 3-6 6-3 in the third round.
The Serbian pro started off brightly in the first set by claiming an early break and controlling the court with a powerful serve and well-executed returns.
The number eight seed wrapped up the opening set and looked certain to continue his dominance but Monaco launched an impressive comeback by snatching a break at the first time of asking.
Monaco managed to level on sets but it was Tipsarevic who drew on his experience and overcame his brief stumble to finish off the clash and secure a place in the final eight of the tournament.
