Aljaz Bedene was knocked out of the Valencia Open in the second round this afternoon by Vasek Pospisil, who recorded a 6-3 6-4 victory over the British number two.
Twenty-six-year-old Bedene headed into the contest having defeated number eight seed Jeremy Chardy in the previous round.
However, as soon as his Canadian opponent claimed the opening set in just 40 minutes, Bedene was on the back foot.
His interest in the competition was then brought to an end soon after when Pospisil recorded another crucial break of serve in the second set.
The world number 44 will now face either David Ferrer or German qualifier Daniel Brands.
