Tomas Berdych powers through to Rotterdam final

Tomas Berdych is through to the final of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam after easing past Gilles Simon.

Tomas Berdych defeated Gilles Simon in straight sets to progress through to the final of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

The third seed lost just three games as he secured a 6-2 6-1 victory to earn a place in the final against either Milos Raonic or Stanislas Wawrinka.

After defeating Andy Murray in the last eight, Simon would have fancied his chances of seeing off Berdych, but the Czech was at his destructive best, breaking serve on two occasions and allowing his French opponent just two return points in the opening set.

It was one-way traffic at the start of the second too as Berdych raced into a 3-0 advantage, and although he got on the board, Simon quickly lost serve again to allow his opponent the chance to serve for the match.

Berdych did so to love to complete a thoroughly convincing win in 58 minutes, winning 95% of points on his first serve and allowing Simon just four return points throughout the contest.
