Eugenie Bouchard has recorded her first win of the grass-court season with a straight-sets victory over Alison Riske at Eastbourne.
Last year's Wimbledon runner-up has endured an horrendous run of results in 2015, winning just seven times on the WTA Tour, but the world number 12 impressed to register a morale-boosting triumph over her American opponent.
The pair shared four breaks of serve during the opening set before the Canadian got the better of a tie-break to move closer to the last 16.
Riske continued to push Bouchard during the second, but four break points were wasted and the seventh seed was able to capitalise on her only opportunity to run out a 7-6 6-3 winner.
