Australia's Lleyton Hewitt is through to the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open with a 1-6 6-3 6-0 win over Croatia's Ivan Dodig.

Lleyton Hewitt came from a set down to beat Ivan Dodig in the quarter-finals of the Atlanta Open.

The Australian was swept aside in the first set, with the third seed smashing eight aces past his opponent and wrapping it up 6-1 inside 20 minutes.

The former world number one fought back in the second, holding serve early on before securing a break in the seventh game, allowing himself to serve out the set to level the match.

Dodig lost the intensity on his serve in the deciding set, winning just 43% of the points on his first serve and saving none of the three break points that he faced.

Hewitt was tested in the final game, but he was able to hold his nerve at deuce to get advantage, sealing the match with a forehand winner.

Hewitt will face the winner of the match between John Isner and James Blake in the semi-finals.
