Johanna Konta has recorded the biggest victory of her career with a straight-sets win over Ekaterina Makarova at Eastbourne.
The British number two controlled her second-round encounter with the world number eight before eventually prevailing by a 6-2 6-4 scoreline.
On Sunday, Konta recorded an impressive triumph over world number 38 Zarina Diyas, and the 24-year-old continued that form during the early stages of her match with the two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist.
Konta broke twice during a one-sided first set to take the lead against the Russian, before she soon struck again in the opening moments of the second.
At 4-3, the fourth seed broke back to hint at a comeback, but in the next game, Konta broke the left-hander's serve for the fourth time in the match before she served it out for a place in the last 16.
