Britain's Johanna Konta has cruised past home favourite Roberta Vinci in the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome.
Konta, the world number 23, dropped just four games against the seventh seed to claim a top-10 scalp.
It was a first-ever meeting between the pair and Konta completely dominated the first set, losing just four points on her way to a 6-0 success.
The second was tighter as the pair traded breaks of serve early on before Konta saved five break points in the eighth game to go 5-3 up, eventually serving it out 6-4.
She will face either Lucie Safarova or Misaki Doi in the third round.
Fellow Brit Heather Watson failed to make it through earlier today, losing in straight sets to Barbora Strycova.
