Milos Raonic beats Jeremy Chardy to progress at Madrid Open

Milos Raonic cruises past Jeremy Chardy in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open.

Milos Raonic cruised past Jeremy Chardy in the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open this afternoon.

The Canadian didn't offer his French opponent a single break point on his way to a 6-3 6-3 victory in just over an hour.

After a steady start from both men, Raonic broke Chardy in the sixth game before going on to serve out the set to love.

It was a similar story in the second as Raonic broke through in the third game before again breaking at 5-3 to clinch victory.

The big-server will next face either Guillermo Garcia-Lopez or Kei Nishikori in the third round.
