Tommy Haas ends Dan Evans fairytale

Birmingham's Dan Evans sees his run at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors end at the hands of former world number two Tommy Haas at the semi-final stage.

Dan Evans's run at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors was brought to an end by former world number two Tommy Haas at the semi-final stage on Saturday.

The 23-year-old from Birmingham had seen off Jan Hajek, Michael Berrer and third seed Philipp Kohlschreiber en route to reaching the last four.

Evans's hopes of making his first ATP final looked good when he claimed the opening set against Haas. However, the German fought back to win 5-7 6-4 6-3 in one hour and 58 minutes.

Haas will now face defending champion and fifth seed Marin Cilic in Sunday's showpiece.
