Simona Halep has defeated Madison Keys in straight sets, sealing a 7-6(2) 6-3 victory, to win the women's final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
The first set featured eight breaks of serve - four apiece - before the 24-year-old Romanian took over in the tie-break and overpowered her American opponent.
Halep, who also beat Keys in the fifth round at Wimbledon, broke again in the second set and never looked troubled as she convincingly won the Rogers Cup title for the first time.
The fifth seed reached last year's Rogers Cup final in Toronto against Swiss Belinda Bencic but had to retire in the third set due to a leg injury.
