Matthias Bachinger relishing challenge of facing Andy Murray

Matthias Bachinger insists that he is in the right form to challenge Andy Murray at the US Open on Thursday.

Matthias Bachinger has admitted that he can't wait to meet British number one Andy Murray in the second round of the US Open on Thursday.

Radek Stepanek was the victim as Bachinger caused an upset in the opening round in New York, and the German qualifier is confident that he can cause more problems for Murray, with whom he is familiar from their junior careers.

"I'm really looking forward to playing him," the 27-year-old told reporters. "When we were 14 we played each other a few times. Now it's a different match, for sure, but I'm really looking forward to it. We'll be on a big court.

"The good thing for me is that I'm in good form. In tennis you always have chances. Of course I know it will be really tough, but I just want to go out there and enjoy every minute, every ball. That's my goal for this match."

Murray needed four sets to beat Robin Haase in his first-round match.
