Dominic Inglot joins Jamie Murray in US Open doubles semi-finals

Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt reach the semi-finals of the men's doubles at the US Open after defeating Florin Mergea and Rohan Bopanna.

Dominic Inglot has ensured that Great Britain will have two representatives in the semi-finals of the men's doubles at the US Open after he and partner Robert Lindstedt won their last-eight tie.

On Tuesday, Jamie Murray and John Peers came through a final-set tie-break to reach the last four, and Inglot and Lindstedt have followed up that success with an impressive victory over sixth seeds Florin Mergea and Rohan Bopanna.

After coming through the opener in a tie-break, Inglot and his Swedish playing partner secured the only break of the match on their way to a 7-6 6-3 triumph.

Earlier this year, Inglot and Mergea had formed a successful partnership before it was brought to an end shortly after the Miami Masters.

In the semi-finals, Inglot and Lindstedt will play French duo Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut.
