Former world number one Roger Federer has revealed his pleasure in securing a comfortable win in the first round at Wimbledon.
The six-time champion eased into the second round following a 6-1 6-1 6-1 victory over inexperienced Albert Ramos.
"I thought [the crowd] were excited to see us play and I thought I played a good match," said Federer. "I played a very clean match from start to finish.
"I'm glad the crowd enjoyed it. It's always nice to save energy [in the first round] if you want to look forward into the draw."
Meanwhile, defending champion Novak Djokovic also got off to a winning start by defeating Juan Carlos Ferrero in straight sets.
