Roger Federer held serve for a record 116th time in a row during his quarter-final victory over Gilles Simon at Wimbledon this afternoon.
The seven-time SW19 champion eclipsed the previous record of 111 games held for 16 years by Wayne Arthurs in his 6-3 7-5 6-2 win on No. 1 Court.
However, the streak soon ended as Simon prevented Federer from serving out the second set.
The Swiss was quick to restore his advantage and then cruised through the third set to reach the last four. He will face home favourite Andy Murray in Friday's semi-final after the 2013 champion's straight-sets win over Vasek Pospisil.
