Eugenie Bouchard has crashed out of Wimbledon in the first round of the competition with a straight-sets defeat to Duan Ying-Ying.
The 2014 finalist has struggled for form over the past few months, and the 21-year-old found life tough on court number three as Duan took the first set on a tie-breaker 7-3.
The 26-year-old maintained her momentum in the second set as she capitalised on several mistakes by the Canadian to earn a vital break, which enabled her to secure the set 6-4 and seal her place in the next round.
Duan will face the winner of the match between Tatjana Maria and Bojana Jovanovski in the second round. Meanwhile, the defeat will drop Bouchard out of the world's top 20.
