Sara Errani has suffered a surprise exit in the first round of Wimbledon with a straight-sets defeat to Monica Puig.
Puig, who is ranked 60 places below world number five Errani, broke once in the opening set before taking it 6-3.
The Puerto Rican carried her momentum into the second as she closed out the contest 6-2 by converting her seventh match point.
Puig's reward for upsetting the fifth seed is a second-round encounter with either Spaniard Silvia Soler-Espinosa or Japan's Misaki Doi.
