John Hathaway has earned a unanimous decision victory over John Maguire in an all-British welterweight clash at UFC Nottingham.
'Hitman' Hathaway pushed the pace from the outset, forcing Maguire to defend for much of the opening round.
Maguire was on the backfoot again in the second, with Hathaway maintaining top position after scoring an important takedown.
Hathaway was forced to taste his own medicine late in the third as Maguire dragged the Brighton native to the floor, but he was unable to do any significant damage.
At the end of three rounds the judges scored the fight 30-27 30-27 30-27 to Hathaway, who earns the 17th win of his career.
