UFC president Dana White confirmed on Tuesday that UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones will defend his title against Chael Sonnen on Saturday, April 27.
White also revealed in an interview with the LA Times that Jones and Sonnen will be coming face to face as coaches on the next series of FX programme The Ultimate Fighter prior to their showdown.
Sonnen was due to fight former champion Forrest Griffin in December but that bout has been cancelled to make way for his meeting with Jones.
Jones infamously declined the chance to fight Sonnen on eight days' notice earlier this summer, forcing the UFC to cancel an event for the first time in the company's history.
'Bones' hinted that his stance on defending his belt against Sonnen had softened earlier this week, taking to Twitter to voice his change of heart.
He tweeted: "The more I realize how bad the fans want to see me fight Sonnen the more I am beginning to disregard whether he deserves it or not.
"A part of me wants to do it for the fans. The other part of me feels as if it devalues the importance of the championship."
Sonnen is moving up to light heavyweight after failing to capture the middleweight crown earlier this year, losing a highly-anticipated re-match to Anderson Silva in Las Vegas.
